Lynne Arriale

Lynne Arriale has long been critically acclaimed as having a singular voice as a pianist, composer, arranger and trio leader. JAZZIZ Magazine has described her music as coming from “the synaptic intersection where brain meets heart, where body meets soul.” She has been critically acclaimed for “putting the heart back into jazz” (London Times). Deeply committed to jazz education, Lynne Arriale is currently Assistant Professor of Jazz Piano and Director of the Jazz Combo Program at the University of North Florida.

 

KJ Denhert

KJ Denhert is a unique artist, singer, guitarist and songwriter who calls her music Urban Folk and Jazz. Her voice is powerful, her lyrics full of insight, and her musicianship is impeccable. Her eclectic yet unified performances reach out to many different types of audiences without compromising her music and beliefs. Denhert and her band, The NY Unit, have a twelve-year history of dynamic live shows in the US, Italy and the Caribbean.


 

Lakecia Benjamin

Lakecia Benjamin, born and raised in New York City, is a saxophonist and composer. Proficient in the musical styles of Jazz, R&B, and Funk, Ms. Benjamin has performed with artists including Clark Terry, John Hicks, Joanne Brackeen, Anita Baker, Kool and the Gang, Alicia Keys, and many more. She performs in workshops and concerts at public schools, and community events through organizations such as Jazz At Lincoln Center.


 

Geri Allen

Geri Allen is a post bop jazz pianist, producer, and music educator from Detroit, Michigan, who has worked with many of the greats of modern jazz, including Dave Holland, Ron Carter, Ravi Coltrane, Tony Williams, Jack DeJohnette, Ornette Coleman, Betty Carter, Mary Stallings, and Charles Lloyd. She has an extensive discography and regular touring schedule.
 


 

Kit McClure

Kit McClure

Kit McClure, Yale University 1975, is a band leader, saxophonist, and founder of Women in Jazz, Inc. Women in Jazz, incorporated in 1993, provides audiences with access to the work of women jazz musicians, through recordings and live performances. Since its inception, Women in Jazz has provided hundreds of woman musicians in New York City with performance opportunities, recording opportunities, and a means to forge careers in jazz.

 

Kit McClure Band

The Kit McClure Band debuted at the Ritz in NYC in 1982. Since that time more than 300 women musicians have been showcased with the Band. Aside from being part of the NYC jazz community, the Kit McClure Band has toured extensively throughout Europe and Japan, both as a headline act and with other artists, such as Cab Calloway and the late rock star Robert Palmer.

The Kit McClure Band has released four CDs and continues to perform in clubs, colleges, jazz halls and jazz festivals. Recent performances have included the Kennedy Center, the JVC Jazz Festival, the Langston Hughes House and the River-to-River Festival in NYC.
